HISTORY

Ali was born and raised in Iran where there is lots of sunshine. He found in Britain they don't have much in the way of natural light for a large part of the year so he figured why not turn this negative into something positive. Rather than being depressed about the gloom Ali decided to try to design lights that would be a genuine source of amusement and fun and perhaps a replacement for his missing sun.

Ali moved to Britain in 1988 and while studying for a degree in Graphic Design at St Martin's he became frustrated by the limitations of 2D design, so he went on to study for a MA in Industrial Design.

Ali's use of repetition and found objects combined with his sense of humour has produced a unique sense of design.
